Eni Koni, ( Richard Armitage Bulgaria) shared a link from Radio News stating that on May 19 and May 20, UK Channel 5 is airing a documentary, D-Day Sunken Secrets, Narrated by Richard Armitage.
And, the NOVA special, a two hour documentary, will be aired in the U.S. on PBS on May 28, 2014, one week later.
A DVD – yet to be released, is also for sale:
Neither the PBS press release nor the DVD information lists any narrator.
Imagine, not one ( Hamlet:A Novel) , but two new narrations by Richard Armitage in the month of May, and we can own them. Be still my beating heart.
Now, let’s nail this rumor down regarding Nova.
Thanks Micra and Eni
Fantastic, but be warned, there could an American narrator for the PBS version on the documentary.

What makes you think so? Anything in particular?

Tailoring the narrator to the local audience is common with documentaries.

The preview is no help…definitely an American narrator there (sounds like a familiar Nova narrator).

Seems to be a fact

I found an article that says the doco on Channel 5 in Britain was reversioned for the UK market, but doesn’t give specific details of what that actually means. It could well be where RA entered the picture, though, and it was done by True North, in Leeds.

Hmmm. It is looking more and more like Kaprekar has a point, and the U.S. viewers watching PBS may not hear RA as the narrator. OTOH, it is seeming more certain that UK viewers will hear him on Mar 19 and 20. I’m a big supporter of PBS. I love it. I will watch the US version. I will try and watch the UK version. But I ain’t buying it unless Armitage is the narrator.

I think its likely the PBS version will use a US narrator – certainly not Richard in that 41 second promo clip. Bummer.

I know. Maybe some way, somehow, through some good deed and talent, we will get to hear it with RA narrating.

There’s a free screening in New Orleans on 22 May according to this link: http://www.wyes.org/event/nova_screening/
Still no confirmation of narrator though 😦

I see Ali at RANet has confirmed that Richard will NOT be the narrator on PBS. How sad is that? Bummer indeed! 😦
