Warrior Thorin – Origins

I wonder if Richard Armitage  as Thorin in training has his “tongue of concentration” in place? Whatever he did, he’s a great learner.  Just check out the final result.

I never thought the phrase ” I prefer the version in the track suit” would ever leave my lips ( or tips), but in this case, I do.

  1. As I posted on my tumblr some days ago: I need a 12 hours documentary on Dwarves Boot Camp. I really need it. Can’t live without 😛
Then I need RA to write a book on his whole Hobbit experience, and, as Richardiana suggested, an audiobook version + a documentary of the making of it. Don’t you think they would be very nice projects for our RA? 😀

    • Dwarf boot camp is on the list as part of the 9 hours of special features for the AUJ EE version- not the minute-by-minute detail you’re craving, Micra, but not a bad start! Count me in as one who’d lap up any and all future documentaries on this subject matter, narrated by RA, of course. Goes without saying!

      • And we will also have the making of Misty Mountains, another feature I’m craving for. I only hope Mr. Armitage wasn’t playing hide & seek (as usual) while they were filming the special features. Can’t wait for dvd!

        • He does tend to hide, doesn’t he?I always wonder whether he’s kicking himself for that two seconds of dreamy interlude when the camera caught him playing air guitar with Orcrist, OR was it scripted?

        • I think the filming guys for the background material were there a great deal of the time. Hopefully RA and the others got so used to seeing them there that they just carried on as normal (and forgot to hide!).
I wouldn’t mind some dwarven table tennis, some army manoeuvres (with RA barking out orders), as well as plenty of surprises!

  2. Impressive physical intelligence and dedication, and the jaw-dropping end result. Speaking of jaw-dropping, I’m with you on the choice of outfit. 😉

I love the dwarf boot camp material; if only there was more. I’d love to see RA hard at work, and I’m sure we’d catch a few glimpses of the tongue!

    • Maybe the production Vlog we’re waiting for might have something, and the new publications that are scheduled to be released.I think someone more in the know would have better info than I.

      • I can’t wait to receive the 3rd book of Chronicle by Weta. The first two are superb. But I suppose it will be focused on the new characters of DoS: Elves, Bard, Master of Lake City and SMaug, of course. Nevertheless, it’s worth the price.

  3. I wish I had something more erudite to contribute, but I can only whimper “track suit” and melt towards the floor.

(It does show off his physicality and impressive regimen of cross training in different fields over the years, it’s true. But I HAVE to say that my favorite part is, and will probably always remain, (whispering) his bum.) THUDDING AGAIN
