This week it was announced that there was a private screening of Urban and the Shed Crew, which has also been submitted for consideration to the Cannes Film Festival. ( It seemed to be very well received)

What’s next?

The  eligibility requirements for submitting a film for  competition selection to the jury are here. They include the following:

CONDITIONS

• Films whose distribution is limited to its country of origin

This means that there is a chance that  Urban and the Shed Crew could be released in the UK before the dates of  the film festival, May 13- 24, 2015. But it can only be released in the the UK, if it is to  meet the standards of eligibility for pre-submission in any of three main categories.

First, my thought is that if it is to be released, that won’t happen until the Cannes selection committee decide to include it or not. But that’s soon enough – mid-April.

If Urban is to be submitted to additional film festivals, what might other festival rules prevent distribution in other markets such as the U.S.?
