WHAT????????? Seriously? Irish film premieres in NY? (Sorry, no offense to you lovely New Yorkers. I loved your city. But I am very disappointed…) At least Tribeca is a film festival with a big name, so that means there will hopefully be reviews.
Strategy decision. They wanted a higher profile film festival. Understandable. Or maybe it was too shortly after the rights to Pilgrimage had been sold at Berlinale (beginning of February). Still hoping for some kind of premiere in Ireland. Not for RA’s attendance (although nice bonus) but for the sake of the “Irish talent” that they are touting everywhere…
At least lots of fans will get to see it. We’ll hear from them, and maybe there will be a panel or something. An event. There is reason to think RA could be in NYC in April.

Very interesting. What do you think? Strategy decision or DIFF didn’t want it – after all, DIFF probably had many Irish made films to fit in.
