Alex Hurt and Ben Rosenfield round out the cast of Mike Bartlett’s dark comedy, being directed in its off-Broadway premiere by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer.
Roundabout Theatre Company has announced complete casting for Love, Love, Love, the decade-hopping dark comedy by Mike Bartlett, who received a Tony nomination for best play this year with King Charles III.

Directed by Michael Mayer (American Idiot, Spring Awakening), the production will star Richard Armitage, Alex Hurt, Zoe Kazan, Ben Rosenfield and Amy Ryan.

The play begins in a North London flat in the late 1960s amid a haze of rock and reefer, then skips forward to cover four decades, reflecting on the changing political, economic and social realities of a world that steers the baby-boomer generation from passion to paranoia.

Love, Love, Love will begin previews Sept. 22 in Roundabout’s off-Broadway home, the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, with opening night set for Oct. 19. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through Dec. 18.

  1. I’m pleased RA is getting this chance to appear on a NY stage but disappointed the MLC film was a no-go. Those that bought tickets before the play was confirmed must be relieved! I’m actually spending a week in NY at the start of Sep (first time in over 15 years!) so I wondered if there was a chance I’d catch this but I see it doesn’t preview till the 22nd. Oh well – can’t be greedy – I did see him live twice in The Crucible…

    • Well, you enjoy NYC even without RA, and September can be just so stunningly beautiful. A little too early for fall colors, but sometimes very, very blue sunny skies.
