Weetabix is a well-known cereal which is made here in Canada for the North American market and for the UK market in Northamptonshire. From there it is exported to many different countries. We have visitors here from Australia right now and this is what one of them loves for breakfast! 🙂
Oops! The way I worded that made it sound as though they were made in Canada *for* the UK market too! Apologies! The UK ones are of course made in Northamptonshire, in Burton Latimer – or so Wikipedia informs me.
They’re quite large and remind me of eating a crunchy ball of string. People are often challenged to eat more than one. They’re usually served, like most cereals, with milk. But, as a child, I had the strange habit of smearing one with butter and eating it dry as a snack when I came home from school. My mother was quite happy to encourage this as she thought it ‘healthy’, LOL.
You don’t know Weetabix???? And there i thought it was the universal plague for children at breakfast 😂i quite like it now though and they have created the minibrick/ lego size version of the big brick 😊
Perry see my reply to Jaydee above. What you’re both describing IS Shredded Wheat which is straw-like whereas Weetabix are small brick-like compacted flakes of wheat which are more flavoursome. I’d take a pic of some I’ve got if I knew how to link it on here!
My daughter bought a box the other day (I don’t know how to link a pic either EssexGirl) as we have friends staying here right now and this is what the guy likes for breakfast. Definitely NOT Shredded Wheat! 😀

Turns out, I have been informed, we call it Shredded Wheat or Minis. I had the big ones sometimes when I was growing up. Very straw-like.
