Richard Armitage Pawn Porn? Perry Doesn’t Think So.

This set of tweets, compliments of Violet Dutchblogger, hit Armitageworld this weekend. Perry completely missed it, since for the first time in forever, she went for two full days without internet. No internet. No data. Couldn’t even go to a local coffee shop or restaurant, because, locally, everything was out.  How does that even happen? Mexico, I guess.

Anyway, I came across this tweet and read some comments about whether the circled pawn is Richard Armitage in his cameo. I’m saying absolutely not.

Yes, the face looks like it could be his face with prosthetics, but the pawn next him is also a decent candidate. In fact, all the pawns may have the same faces. Second, while it’s difficult to tell anything from an edited trailer, these chess pieces, especially the pawns, seem to be incidental to the action. It’s not impossible, but with what we saw, it’s hard to imagine that any of the pawns would have speaking role, and why go to the trouble of casting Richard Armitage in a cameo role where he is one of 8 (or even 16) similar characters?

Nope, I think if we’ve seen him at all, he’s either one of the knights on the chessboard  (Alice seems to talk to the Black Knight) or the puppy ( but that may be too big a role).

We’ll see.

  1. Since he had a stand in, I doubt he is a CGI character. He also said that we will certainly recognize him when we see him, so my opinion is chess aren’t the answer. We’ll see.

  3. Yes, and the tweet announcing the trailer didn’t specifically say RA was in the trailer… I read that to mean he’s in the movie. He may or may not be in the trailer. The idea about the black knight is a possibility though. Gisborne was a black knight- could be a play on that- a figure in legend trapped in an alternate reality.
