Irish Film Board Includes Pilgrimage in Films to Be Seen in 2016

Thanks to Micra for this information.

As far as I can tell, this is not a list of actual film festivals at which Pilgrimage will appear, but, as far as I can tell, it’s a list of films supported by IFB. Even so, the recognition is promising and as we know, Pilgrimage already has distributors.

  1. It’s neat that it is the first film on their poster. That may have no significance — maybe it was finished first — but it is always good to be at the top for people who get bored and don’t look all the way to the bottom.

  2. From the Irish Film Board’s press release (which the poster accompanied): “Bord Scannán na hÉireann / Irish Film Board (IFB), the national development agency for the Irish film, television and animation industry, today published details of all IFB supported productions coming to audiences in 2016 and detailed its priorities and ambitions for the year ahead.” http://www.irishfilmboard.ie/irish_film_industry/news/Bord_Scannan_na_hEireann-the_Irish_Film_Board_IFB_Launches_2016_Slate_of_Productions/2987 Unfortunately no further details about the films, but I take from this that Pilgrimage will definitely be released this year. Great news.
