Can’t help thinking I wish he’d said ” no way!.” But maybe he did.

Couldn’t agree with you more. He’s such a graceful gentleman.
I can’t help but remember what Nicola said in the DVD extras of Series 9- how painful it’d been to see him having to undo the painstaking work he’d done with Lucas, including the detailed backstory he’d written for the character.
