I Can Hear the Press Questions Now. Will Richard Armitage Sport Another William Blake Tattoo?

Just about every Richard Armitage Fan knows that the tattoo Lucas North shows on his chest is a copy of Ancient of Days, by William Blake. See heretumblr_ni4q2xO8Fe1qfgn4xo1_1280

But can you believe, that Richard Armitage’s new role as Francis Dolarhyde in NBC’s hit series Hannibal may require him to don yet another William Blake tattoo – this one, down his back?
This is the tattoo Ralph Fiennes had in the film, Red Dragon, based on the book about the character Richard Armitage will play. The tattoo is not the exact William Blake Painting, whose title is The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun.

Here are the two William Blake paintings side by side. The photo is a screen cap of Lucas North decorating his new apartment upon his return from Russia. ( source, Me and Richard). The picture on the right is The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun.

What a circle life and work can be.
Anyway, just how naked does this serial get, and how often?
USA, you’ve got no idea what’s in store for you.

  1. Tattoos, YES!! TY for the visuals, Perry, worth seeing them again.
I remember the paintings on Lucas’ wall in S07, I think we saw them again, albeit briefly, in S09…

  2. What an incredible coincidence… Fate? We know Richard “believe” (or something like that) in fate. That he read The Hobbit at 7 to be Thorin when 40. It would be nice to ask him about this 😉
