Yahoo Says Theater Owners Loved Into the Storm at CinemaCon

I have never liked the Yahoo entertainment columns. I’ve found that occasionally, the writers take a dislike to certain films and then are relentless in their  negative reporting. The Lone Ranger comes to mind.  here is the link for the wrote-up on the entire WB presentation.

Into the Storm”
Director: Steven Quale
Release Date: August 8
Talent on hand: Steven Quale, Sarah Wayne Callies and Richard Armitage.  Honestly, whatever they said was a blur.
Lowdown: An even longer preview than the trailer that dropped earlier today, “Storm” goal is to portray a town under siege from a massive number of tornadoes. Now, when the massive storm hits an airport and jet liners are swooped off the ground?  Well, this writer’s suspension of disbelief was probably lost.  More important for WB?  The audience of theater owners loved it.

Maybe the writer spent too many hours at the blackjack tables – though I have to agree that suspension of disbelief was exactly the phrase I, myself, used.

Thanks to Carolyn Westfall Masini, member,  who posted this on the Richard Armitage Friends Network Facebook page.

  2. The cinema-owning audience must’ve been pretty exhausted and on overload by the time Warners rolled around as the last one’s to make their pitch, so I’m glad ITS got a good reaction.
