I know. After all that, I’m not sure what I want to do. If I download it, the rest of my day is shot watching it. It’s the extras – now- this says 4 hours of extras. I thought 9 hours were what was promised- so maybe these are not ALL the extras. What do you think?
Did you pre-order the DVD yet? If so, then you’d be paying double. The SD version is $14.99 compared to the $20 HD version. What’s a few more days really till 11/5.
But then this could be an itunes exclusive version of special features – who knows? I never know anymore with all the different partnering WB does to market each DVD version, like they did with AUJ and their special tie-ins with Best Buy and Walmat (which included the Lego figurine, I think)

It also says “over 4 hours of featurettes” under Appendices Part 7 and another “4 hours of featurettes” under Appendices Part 8. So maybe that’s 8 hours plus the other stuff on Middle Earth?

Weird. Information about extra is different from USA and UK edition. I wonder why. USA edition clearly state 4+4 hours of extra, while the UK says only almost double the time of the feature (the movie itself). Weird.
That is one stroppy little hobbit. The birds certainly ARE returning to the Mountain as foretold. 😉
Also, I’m waiting. I got suckered in by the Amazon “early download” earlier this year and spent good money for something I could *not* actually download, and didn’t find out until I had already *bought* it. It made me furious. What a waste of money, and what a load of false advertising. Boo. So I went out and bought the DVD too. So now, after I buy the EE DVD, lol, I’ll have 3 copies of the Hobbit I’ll have paid for. :} And to pay me back for all that, apparently I get lots of copies of Martin F flipping me the bird? lol
I have yet to see EE, but there’s SO much more of it too on Tumblr – Endless Martin Middle Finger. Even more hysterical is that all those around him treat it like the common occurrence it obviously was.
I waited a while to decide, but did get it and just finished watching about 2 hours of the extras. I’ve had enough for now. I figured there’s be plenty of excerpts on Tumblr. It’s really, really great.

You only get the information that it contents specials length 522 min, specials including audiocommentary 697 min, can´t count how many hours that will be, cause I´m so exhausted of waiting for it. Hope Idon´t have to buy the iTunes Download. Meanwhile I enjoy all the fantastic stills on Tumblr and all the blogs. Thanks for the Martin ones:)

I think USA also described it as more than twice the length of the film- but then gave eight hours.
